Curtis Ohlde

Curtis grew up in North Central Kansas, Linn/Palmer area where his family had a dairy. Early on he had an interest in cattle building a commercial cow/calf herd. Received his B.S. in Animal Science from Fort Hays and had an interest in Genetics and Reproduction. At FHSU he was a student teacher for genetics and gave his senior thesis on Embryo Transfer. While in college Curtis grew his cow herd to over 100 cows. After graduation he returned home to manage the herd health and breeding of the 300 head dairy herd in addition to building his cow herd. 1995 was a challenging year with a drop in cattle prices, married and a new son Taylor. The hard decision was made to sell cows, give up lease females and  relocate to Leavenworth County to work in the Kansas City area as a Pipefitter. Today Curtis runs a small herd of Commercial and Registered Cows. His children Taylor and daughter Logan have been very active in showing livestock and active in the Charolais Junior Program.
